Funtions
The Vice-Rector’s Office for Digitalisation and Infrastructures is responsible for the following functions:
- The coordination and planning of major investments in infrastructures and equipment.
- The management of its own investment plans.
- The management of maintenance plans for buildings and facilities, in coordination with the different Vice-Rectors’ Offices.
- Diagnosis and improvement of the energy efficiency of buildings and facilities.
- Coordination and supervision of the Security and Prevention Service.
- Coordination and supervision of the Resources and Infrastructure Service.
- The cataloguing, valuation, management and promotion of university heritage.
- Coordination and management of telephone and data network infrastructures applied to management, teaching and research.
- The management of the Central Purchasing Office in collaboration with the Management.
- Coordination of requests for the transfer and/or rental of spaces and resources from the University of Cadiz to third parties, in collaboration with the Management and Campus Administrations.
- The management of the transfer of University assets.
- The administration and management of the spaces of the UCA in collaboration with the Centres and Campus Administrations.
- The Central Service of Nautical Resources and Infrastructures.
- The design, programming and coordination of policies to encourage teaching innovation in formal education.
- Coordination of the Virtual Campus and its development.
- Coordination of the dissemination and implementation of free software and open knowledge systems.
- Policy for the acquisition of licensed applications.
- Coordination and planning of computer and audiovisual resources for research, training and communication activities.
- The coordination and management of information technology services in support of the Directorate for Electronic Administration, which reports to the General Secretariat and with the participation of the Management.
- The technical development and integration and homogenisation of the web portals of the University of Cadiz and the social networks.
- The information services applied to management, teaching and research, with the participation of the Vice-Rector’s
participation of the Vice-rectorates involved and the Management. - The dissemination of general information of the University and the coordination of the institutional image and the contents of the website.
- The management of the information systems of the University of Cadiz.
- The strategic planning and architecture of the information system of the University of Cadiz.
- The analysis of the needs of information resources and the improvement of data and work flows, in collaboration with the different units.
- Policies for improving the traceability and verifiability of data, in collaboration with the different units.
- The management and monitoring of the University’s institutional management computer applications in collaboration with the Management.
- The preparation and proposal to the Board of Directors for its report, of the regulations to be approved by the Governing Council in matters pertaining to its Vice-Rectorate.
- Any other powers delegated to it by the Rector or conferred on it by the Statutes and the regulations issued for their development.
